Insulclad House Painters

As ex licensed applicators of Insulclad, and Glamatex, Monolithic  finishes during the 80's to late 90's, Better Painters has the experience you need to get your job done right. Our pricing is very competitive for these cladding systems. The home pictured on the left, which is a 3brm and 2brm joined side by side, was completed for $4200 less than our rivals. It didn't help that the competition specified unnecessary repairs and overpriced paints in their quote. The plaster used with these systems is modified with acrylic resin and is water resistant. These systems are usually specified to be painted with High Build or Elastomeric paint. Better painters only use the correct Dulux or Resene coatings to complete your  E.I.F.S, or Monolithic cladding. The paint for these house types does cost a little more, due to a thicker coat being applied, but that cost is offset by the lower amount of labour required to paint them.

Things to look out for

Some painters would have you believe that painting Solid Plaster or Insulclad (Monolithic) homes is very expensive. Often these quotes include replacing areas due to the odd hairline crack or using expensive "own brand" elastomeric paints. The plaster is reinforced with mesh and doesn't crack easily. Sometimes hairline cracks do appear, but they are nothing to worry about if you have a cavity. If you do not have a cavity, brush some paint into the cracks, or fill with Sika MS, as soon as you spot them. The MS will need to be painted once cured. To find out if you have a cavity drainage system , you can use your phone, or a mirror, under the base of the external wall and see if there are any  drainage holes in a plastic strip that caps the base of the wall.
Monolithic finishes are relatively easy and not overly expensive to paint. They do tend to be larger homes, which results in higher cost. A properly maintained Monolithic home should cost less to paint than a weatherboard house of the same size. Application is by roller, over predominately large flat surfaces, so its pretty easy. There is no real cutting in, as everything is masked. Sealing windows is required prior to painting if the existing seal is failing. This seal is a second line of defense against water ingress but it also cleans up the edge where the finish coat of plaster meets the joinery. Leak defence is built into the cladding system around all protrusions.

Testimonials

"Robin is a breeze to deal with. Prompt in his communication, honest in his time-frames and quotes, and punctual. He worked autonomously at a steady pace and I was impressed with his competency at every level. Robin was able to come in on short notice and repaired a butchered job from a previous plasterer. I would highly recommend Robin for any plaster or painting job you're considering."
